Q&A: ft. Me ♥

Over 400 million people suffer from some sort of mental illness. But of course, no one talks about it because of the stigma it comes with. I feel if more people started to share their feelings, stories, thoughts, it can help other people cope with whatever it is they may have going on. So I have decided to interview different types of individuals, mental illness or not and get them to feel comfortable sharing their stories. Each interview will include different questions (with the acceptation of 1 or 2) so we learn different types of information. Why not start with myself? Look out for others in the future!

Do you have a mental illness?

I was diagnosed with severe depression, anxiety, and PTSD. A lot of people don’t really know about the PTSD but it comes from me getting hit by a car when I was 12.

Does it run in your family?

It does. I know some people in my family suffer from depression, anxiety, and maybe other things that I am not sure of…

What are 3 words that describe you?

Animated. So many people have told me that I was “animated” and I never knew why but now I do! I’m very giggly and childish.

Attentive. I love this about myself. I notice everything even though I may not say anything. I like to be aware of all my surroundings. I also like to pay close attention to liars that think they are good at lying. (:

Motivated. I must admit, I am a go-getter. It may not always happen so fast but I always always always get what I want. Like my new car!

What are some of your weaknesses?

I am so emotional! Any little thing hurts my damn feelings. I am literally a 20-year-old baby. Another one of my weaknesses is feeling like I need to please everyone. I’m learning more to make sure I am happy first.

Whats an anxiety attack for you?

Have you ever put on a pullover sweater and pulled the straps till it captured your face? That’s what an anxiety attack feels like for me. My neck feels like its being strangled. I can’t breathe but I’m also crying hysterically.  Yea, it’s not fun.

How are you REALLY doing?

Overall, I have been doing really well. Especially when I think about the past. I have been experiencing more happy than sad. I do still have some off days but I also haven’t been so keen on taking my medication daily. I haven’t taken it for like a month. Oops…
