6 Ways I Stay Connected During the Pandemic

Well hello there everyone! How have you guys been? Time went from a complete standstill to if you blink it’s already the next month. I can’t believe it! Isaiah even turned 7 months yesterday. It seems like I just posted his 6-month check-in last week!

As you all know we are currently in the middle of a pandemic aka Covid-19. The virus that has changed all of our lives in some way or another. If you aren’t an essential worker then you’re really supposed to be staying home. This was put in effect to try and stop the spread. This means no hanging out or seeing some of our friends and family.

This can be so hard that it can even start to mess with your mental health. Trust me, I know. But, for the sake of our health and the safety of others we just have to manage. Lucky for us, we live in a decade that practically depends on electronics, gadgets, and social media, etc. I’ve listed some ways you guys can still stay in touch and even have some fun with friends and family while staying home and social distancing.

Your basic text and call options

This is definitely the most common way to stay in touch. For me, anyway. I actually prefer to text because talking on the phone gives me anxiety unless it’s with my boyfriend (for the most part). These options are more than likely on your mobile phone unless you’re my sweet granny.

Shoot me an email

I don’t know about you but my inbox can be filled with a ton of companies trying to get me to buy stuff. It’s Mostly Dominos and Fasshionova. Every now and then I chat with a few people over email. This is still an option!

Lets get some Facetime

Facetime is also a good way to stay in touch even though I kind of hate it. I’ve found myself in a few FaceTime calls. Did you know you can face time up to 32 people at the same time?

Facebook

I think we should all be familiar with Facebook. I mean, it’s been around forever. Despite their controversy, Facebook has made communication a lot easier for some people. Because of Facebook, my grandma is able to stream Church services from her room! There is even a video chat option within the Facebook messenger. I actually had no idea about this until my pals called me last week. It was a nice surprise!

(Follow my Facebook page! I’ve been neglecting it but I will be back soon.)

iPhone games for the win

This is my favorite one yet. My best friends and I have been going ham with the Uno games. Once we start it’s impossible to stop. There are lots of other games to choose from like Cup Pong or Connect Four!

(I’m not too sure how it works or if it’s even possible for Android users. So sorry!)

There are lots of other apps and sources that can help you stay connected! Right now Zoom, another video chat platform, is really popular. I also just found out about Netflix Party! A way to watch your favorite shows while talking to your friends! Pretty cool right? I need to check that out for myself.

What are some ways you guys are staying connected with friends and family? Let me know what I missed! Have a great night everyone!
