Things I Can’t Live Without + Rant?

Hola! ¡Buenas días! How is everyone today? I feel like I am all over the place. This past week I’ve been the most unorganized I’ve ever been. I feel stuck! I was going to hold off on posting AGAIN but I figured I’d just post anyway so I could also let out some feelings. (Which means 2 posts today because it’s Mother’s & Mental Health Friday!)

I must admit I’ve been slacking on a lot of things. I’ve also been losing motivation but I’m working on it. There has been so much going on behind the scenes that I can’t talk about now but will in the future. It’s basically consumed all of my thoughts. Everything happens for a reason, right? That’s just what I have to keep telling myself but it seems like everything is happening all of the time.

Yesterday’s post was delayed due to the fact that I finally got a new phone! My iPhone 8 was so outdated. It was always crashing, freezing, and doing something to make me want to throw it. I had to wait a year and a half before I could upgrade. Here we are today with a fancy iPhone 11! Besides taking care of Isaiah, I basically spent all day trying to set up and get used to the phone.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you guys some of the things I couldn’t (well wouldn’t) want to live without. Now I don’t mean things like family and friends because obviously, I couldn’t live without the most important people in my life. I mean things we technically don’t need.

My phone

I use my phone way more than I’d like to admit but that’s because I depend on my phone for a lot of things. It’s not just for my Reddit addiction. My notes section has sort of become this rough draft area for most of my blog posts. It’s so hard to actually sit in front of a laptop when you have an infant. Speaking of an Isaiah, I also keep track of all his feedings, diaper changes, and lots of other things on the Baby Tracker app. I’ve used it since the day he was born. It is truly a lifesaver! It will definitely make being a first-time mom a tad more manageable.

My laptop

A blogger without a laptop is possible but highly unlikely. I had my MacBook Pro for 5 years before it broke a while back. I experienced what it was like blogging without a laptop. Thankfully I had my iPad but it most definitely wasn’t the same. My blogs would post with so many errors and placement issues. People couldn’t even post comments on them for some reason. I said previously that I use my phone for the rough draft but I didn’t mention that I use my laptop for the final. Thanfully, my brother gave me one to use! Editing can be a nightmare on anything other than a laptop or desktop in my opinion.

Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil

I’m not sure if I’ve said this before but I am super insecure about my eyebrows. I hate the shape! It’s completely my fault though and I will tell you why. When I was around 7 or 8 years old I remember watching a wedding show on TLC and seeing the brides get their makeup done. At some point, I must’ve thought I was a master eyebrow enthusiast and I went ahead and shaved my eyebrows in the shower. I shaved them with a BIC razor, y’all. Without a mirror. I remember coming out of the shower, looking at the mirror and started crying immediately. I was so embarrassed about the school playground the next day. They never ever grew back the same.

I thought about doing microblading but I don’t know, the thought of having something done to my face and not liking it makes me nervous. For now, I’ll just stick with doing my brows whenever I have to go in a public setting. Ha!

That’s all I have for now. Tell me, what are some things you can’t live without? Bloggers, do you prefer to blog on something other than a laptop or desktop?

  1. Hahaha! The comment about you shaving your brows in the shower with no mirror had me laughing so hard. That’s so unfortunate but trust me, we all went through that experimental stage of wanting to remove hair from places and try makeup on – you are NOT alone! I also find I’m so much lazier when blogging on my ipad so a desktop is so necessary. I use my iPad just for editing. Great post!

  2. Honestly I thought I was the only one who found it hard to blog without my laptop, I’ve tried my iPad but failed miserably. But I pretty much agree I’d be lost without my phone as thats the source for entertainment, news etc .. but during quarantine I’m trying to reduce my phone time but failing miserably lol. But great post!

  3. I’m sorry you’re having a rough time but bad things never last forever- I’m sure it’s going to get better.

I absolutely can not live without my phone and my laptop and my brow pencil- I over plucked my eyebrows as a teenager and also shaved a tiny bit off by mistake so now I have a random bald spot on one of my brows lol. I have tried growing them back during quarantine and not plucking at all has helped.

  4. Okay we literally have TOO much in common! I love the shape of your brows! You do a great job! How did you grow them back? I started putting Jamaican Black Castor Oil on them but I couldn’t stay consistent ):

  5. I used to shave my eyebrows too and then I just plain got sick of penciling them back in and worrying that someone would hug me and my eye brows would be on their clothes. Lol. being Young is not easy. Great post!

  6. Lol I know we’re basically the same person at this point! I love your brows too btw I would never have been able to tell! I used a mix of coconut oil and castor oil and it actually seems to have helped.
