5 Foods I Love And 5 Foods I Hate

TGIF everyone! Even though Fridays mean nothing to me anymore. Ha! Today I wanted to share some of my foodie preferences. I got the idea from a fellow blogger and friend, Pooja. Pooja has an amazing blog where you can find useful blogging tips including all things SEO, yummy recipes, six-word stories, and so much more. Make sure to check out her blog!

Back to food… today I’m going to share 5 of my favorite foods and 5 of the foods that make me want to hide under a rock. My taste pallet has definitely evolved over the years. I used to be very picky and always played it safe when it came to trying new foods. I talk more about food in one of my favorite awards I’ve received, which is The Food Award.

Foods I Love

1. Breaded chicken

This has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. My mom used to make this dinner for me all the time. A breaded chicken cutlet, white rice, and broccoli, or another type of vegetable. I love it so much that whenever I eat it I associate it with comfort and childhood. It was such a good feeling making it for Isaiah for the first time. Of course, he didn’t appreciate it as much as I did but I know one day he will!

2. Rice

You can never go wrong with rice. Rice can be paired with so many different things. Inside foods or on the side. I love all kinds of rice like Mexican, fried, white, brown, Cuban, you name it, I love it.

3. Roasted veggies

Roasted veggies taste like heaven in your mouth. Especially roasted with a little garlic and oil. I usually roast veggies at least 3 times a week. Not only is it delicious but it’s also really easy to do. These are veggies with pizzaz.

4. Broccoli

Broccoli is my all-time favorite vegetable. Even though they smell like farts sometimes (says the little kiddies I used to babysit). Broccoli is my favorite sauteed with chopped garlic and oil but I can literally eat it any other way. I even like it on my pizza! Which I am actually having for dinner tonight. Fridays are pizza night!

5. Craisins

Sour raisins anyone? This is what I call them. Craisins are like nature’s candy. I can snack on them all day. I like to have them in oatmeal, with granola, or even on its own. There’s a recipe on the back of the package for Oatmeal Craisin White Chocolate Chunk Cookies that I would love to make this winter!

Foods I Hate

1. Seafood

There’s not much to say here. I don’t like to talk bad about popular foods because I know so many people love it. I just can’t get into seafood. I don’t think I ever will. The smell really bothers me and the way it looks makes me cringe.

2. Cucumbers

Pickles are basically salted cucumbers right? I love pickles but I hate cucumbers! They remind me of a spa day and I just can’t eat them.

3. Mushrooms

I won’t lie… I’ve never tried mushrooms. I hear mixed opinions on them. I was scared to try it. I just know I won’t like them. Are mushrooms considered fungus?

4. Ham

Thanksgiving ham? I’ll pass. Ham sandwich? I’ll pass again. I’m not the biggest fan of pork. I eat crispy bacon but that’s about it and I don’t even eat that every day. There’s just something about the taste and feel of ham that makes my stomach turn.

5. Plain Mashed Potatoes

Pregnancy made me hate plain old mashed potatoes. My grandma would make them all the time and I just started to get tired of it. I would actually gag at the sight of plain mashed potatoes. I do on the other hand like a baked potato. OR I could possibly eat mashed potatoes if they were loaded or made with lots of garlic.

  1. Omg we have the same taste!! I love broccoli so much and I add it to my pizza too and I love roasted vegetable- I make them all the time. They’re so easy to make and they so good with rice or pretty much anything. I even put them in my noodles. I love rice as well- I have it almost every day. You can just do so much with rice. I’m allergic to one kind of mushroom and hate the taste and texture of the rest. The texture is what throws me off. I hate the smell of seafood as well. I’m vegan so I don’t eat seafood anyway but I remember being grossed out by it even when I wasn’t vegan. I remember going to a seafood restaurant with a friend and the smell was so bad and the way it looks slimy just grossed me out so I ended up just eating fries lol!

  2. Yum! Roasted veggies in soup sounds so good! Probably so much added flavor. Okay mushroom texture sounds scary now. I trust your word since we literally have the same exact taste. If you dont mind me asking, when did you become vegan? Kudos for even going in the seafood restaurant. I wouldn’t be able to handle 5 minutes in there!

  3. Yeah the texture of mushrooms kind of reminds me of human skin and it’s freaky lol. I became vegan in June 2018 so not too long ago but I had started giving stuff up before that as well. The smell was SO BAD after a while I was like hurry up and eat I need to get out of here!!
