What I Love About Spring

Happy Spring everyone! It’s time for some Spring tings! I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for the season to arrive and I’ll tell you why in just a bit. But, before I do just know that winter is still my favorite season and will always hold a special place in my heart but it’s about time for that to go. I think it’s time for a fresh start and Springtime is the perfect time to do that. I hope you’re just as ready as I am! Read until the end to find out the one thing I dread about the season.

Mornings Are More Approachable

I used to hate mornings, then I loved them, and now I hate them again. I try to get in as much sleep as possible so waking up before Isaiah never happens. Even when I do try to wake before him the cold just left me wanting to stay cuddled in bed. I’d likely have more motivation to wake up and be productive when the birds are up singing, the sun is beaming through the window at a much earlier time, and it’s much warmer. That sounds like the perfect recipe for an ideal morning.

You See the World in Color

It’s like the world is getting life back. We finally start to see those green leaves pop back up instead of the naked and bare trees. My favorite thing to see is all of the bright blossoming flowers filling up empty spaces. Speaking of color, that means I get to whip our all of my bright-colored outfits as well as nail polishes.

It Means My Birthday Is Approaching

My own holiday! This one doesn’t need much explaining but I’m hoping to have a great and safe 24th birthday this year. 🤞🏾

The Soothing Rain

I love the rain so much. I literally thrive on rainy days. One of my best friends texts me on each rainy day applauding me on how productive I am. Rain also has a nice smell especially before it even starts. A few weeks ago when I was sick, I needed to get some fresh air but it was 4 am and I couldn’t just walk out. So, I did the next best thing which was open the window and stick my head all the way out. I took a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief. I smelt like Spring. I opened up my weather app right away and just as I expected, we were going to be expecting rain within the next 20 minutes. I associate rain with comfort and it just makes me happy.

It Feels Like a Fresh Start

This Spring feels like a fresh start to me especially. The last few months haven’t exactly been the easiest and I wasn’t myself. I guess you can say that I like to take all signs of change and run with it.

Theres More to Do

I’m most excited to finally get out of the house more. With Covid and cold weather happening at once it was nearly impossible to go out. Now that it’s getting warmer we can go on more walks, go to the park, and do a lot more fun outdoor activities. My sister suggested going berry picking with our sons and that’s just one of the many things I’m excited to do.

A BIG SPRING NO NO

Allergies

The only downfall or con I have about Spring is the insane amount of pollutants that roam around. I’ve had the worse allergies since I was a young girl. They were so bad I’d even get sent home from school each time I had an episode. I’ll never forget one day after school when everyone was playing with their toys but I was singled out like a leper. I guess looking back I can see why everyone was so scared. Both my eyes would swell up like I had goggles underneath my skin. My eyes would get bloodshot red and itchy. I looked insane. This happened to me all the way up until around my senior year of high school. Nowadays I just get watery eyes and some tamable itching. We are progressing!

I hope I was able to get you more excited for spring. Make sure to let me know what are some of your favorite and not-so-favorite things about the season in the comments below!

  1. Every season I think is my favorite. But spring is special with the flowers blooming, longer days, brighter colors, and things to do outside. Evening walks in spring are lovely!

  3. Love spring as well! My birthday is less than a month away and I am so super excited since I couldn’t really do much last year. I love the colours too although I could do without the sneezing every five seconds haha!
