24 Random Thoughts for My 24th Birthday

May the 4th be with you and me because it’s my birthday! I’m so beyond blessed to be where I am now and see another day. A few gloomy years ago birthdays were just another day. They haven’t felt so “special”. But, I could tell you this year feels different. I know I’m still so young with so much more to look forward to but I can’t help but feel like life is moving too fast. When we are younger we want to grow up. When we are older, the memories from when we are younger haunt us. That’s time we can’t get back, ya know? However, just like they say, we are the authors of our own story. Our future can and will be great! Instead of doing 24 lessons like I did last year, I’ll post 24 completely random thoughts that have nothing to do with each other. Enjoy the post!

1.) “Half empty, half full
Cup runneth over
Horns of plenty, coffers full
We’re starting over”

This is a random song I found one day that I enjoy listening to. It’s uplifting and so wholesome. It’s called Pulaski at Night by Andrew Bird.

2.) The blue Pixi stick is my favorite flavor.

3.) I definitely wasn’t as excited for my 23rd, but there is something different about this one. Such a different vibe!

4.) I hate it so much when people don’t use their blinkers. Even if it’s for the stupidest turn. I use my blinkers even when no one is behind me. Lol!

5.) I feel like I’m the only one who is keeping up with YouTuber drama.

6.) Pepsi or Coke? None. I don’t drink dark sodas because my mom told me not to when I was younger.

7.) Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am me and if people don’t like that, that’s their problem.

8.) I’ve recently rekindled with my dad and I’m so happy that I did. Pride aside, It’s a relationship I never knew I wanted/needed. I spoke about this one time on my blog. Can you find it?

9.) I was originally a dancer so I dont know why people get so shocked when I can learn a dance in like 0.5 seconds.

10.) One of my favorite vacation spots was going to explore Isla de Mujeres.

11.) I don’t respond well under pressure. That shouldn’t be surprising since I have such severe anxiety.

12.) I never ended up making vegan chili this past winter/fall season. #fail #nexttime

13.) I filmed a drunk Q&A for my YouTube channel. You’ll see that soon if you’re subscribed. Cinco De Mayo tingz.

14.) It’s really not that hard to wear a mask. #sorrynoteffingsorry

15.) I love reminiscing on old times. Whether that be by pictures, videos, or music. Even certain tv shows are nostalgic, like Big Time Rush!

16.) Another throwback show I’d kill to binge watch for nostalgic purposes is Unfabulous. I used to pretend I was sick just so I can stay home and watch this how. It only played on Nickelodeon from 1-3 pm. Of course, school ended at 3:20.

17.) My childhood room color was like a sky/baby blue. Ever since I was a child, I hung posters on my wall. I remember a big Pooh Bear one!

18.) I’m a lot luckier than I think I am. I’m blessed!

19.) I really cherish the close relationship I have with all of my family.

20.) I’m impressed with how far I’ve come in terms of my food and taste pallet. Granted, some things will always get the side-eye (like seafood) but I’ve been enjoying trying new things. I think I’m obsessed with jalapeños now.

21.) I have no idea how to work Tik Tok… but luckily for me, I don’t even have to download the app. With the help of my best friend and sister, they send me like a million hilarious tik toks a week.

22.) My son is his dad’s twin. It’s kind of creepy how much they resemble each other. Of course, he mimics him like crazy so same actions, same head shape, same body shape. It’s hilarious to me! He’s literally his mini. I know girls look at them when I’m not around LOL!

23.) I hardly ever regret things anymore. We can’t go back in time and dwelling on the negative will only suck the life out of you. Instead, I focus on what I can do to turn it into a positive.

24.) The older you get the more important communication becomes. This goes for relationships, friendships, or anything of the sort. I feel like when we are younger we are more likely to get a pass. But people grow and with growth comes new experiences, and lessons, and maturity. It’s a liberating feeling knowing that I can confidently voice my opinions and concerns (thank you WordPress family). I also get a feeling of relief knowing that I can have healthy relationships. Communication is so important.

Alright, enough of the random thoughts. The Jamaican in me wants to scream more fiyah, more fiyah! I hope you all have a wonderful day. I safely plan to do so myself. I have some more birthday content coming so this isn’t the end. Talk soon, everyone!

  1. Happy Birthday, Tiani! 🥳 Wow – you’re so young. I wish I was 24 again! 24 was a very good year. I hope it is very prosperous for you 🤗

P.S. My birthday is August 4. Even though 4 may be considered an unlucky number in Asia, I think any birthday that lands on 4 is lucky!

  4. These are so fun to read! I love the blue pixi stick the most too although I haven’t had them in a while and I don’t drink dark soda either cos my mum freaked me out about them so now I just drink Bubly 😂

  5. Ah! I didn’t know you were only 24! So young! lol Happy birthday! And enjoy! It is the last year before you are no longer young lol! Someone once told me that you are no longer “young” once you are 25 and I think they were right. I feel as if once you are 25-ish then it feels different. Maybe it’s the fact that you are that much closer to your thirties and farther away from the carefree teenage years & being 21. lol
