My Life in Photos (What You’ve Missed)

Hello everyone! I hope all is well. As you know, I’ve been away from blogging for a while. I’m still getting used to writing, editing, and trying to come up with a schedule that works best for me. In the meantime, as promised, I put together a bunch of photos that I liked or that I wanted to post but never got the chance to, starting from last October when I sort of fell off the face of the blogging earth. Hopefully, y’all enjoy the plethora of pictures and now you won’t feel like you missed out on too much!

OCTOBER 2021

For Isaiah’s birthday, we visited the Lego Discovery Center and Sea Life in the American Dream Mall. We had intended on going to the big park in New York but the tickets were already sold out. We still took the drive and stayed at a very nice hotel for a change of scenery.

We had lego family shirts made by @nats_small_shop! She came through super last minute for me. I had this idea in my head with less than 2 weeks to pull it together. Please go check out her page! She has tons of cute items.

Show me your… happy face!

This delicious and super cute cake was made by @mercyslittlebakery! She is my go-to when it comes to cakes and she even makes little treats for all occasions. Her cakes are moist and flavorful. Ugh, now I’m thinking about Dominican cake (my favorite cake of all time).

Even Isaiah’s stuffed doggy “JB” came for the ride!

Here’s the real JB

I went to a Black-Owned Business Sip & Shop! I’m working on a separate post so that I can share all of the goodies I received. Then came Halloween…

Isaiah was not just a firefighter but the whole firetruck itself! This was his first Halloween trick o treating so it took a while for him to get the hang of it, but once he did, he didn’t want to stop. I enjoyed eating lots of the candy he couldn’t eat!

NOVEMBER 2021

We found a little fall Carnival in Upstate New York. They had rides, a petting zoo, games, and so much more! It was a fun time for the family.

Every week on my way to work, I realized a new sassy sign was up. It made me giggle every morning which sorta softened the blow of work.

I became my own nail tech for a while and learned how to give myself gel manicures. I got everything I needed from Amazon which was gel colors, a UV light, a drill set, and manicure tools. It was fun for a while but I think I damaged my nails in the process by using that drill probably the wrong way. They became so weak so I started to have them professionally done again so I can have stronger nails like I once did. I should probably take a hair, skin, and nail vitamin…

Christmas tree shopping!

DECEMBER 2021

I got a new protective hairstyle done called Goddess Braids and I fell in love with them! They lasted me about 6 or 7 weeks I believe, could be more. Stay tuned because I’m getting a new hairstyle done in the next few days. Thanks to @hairbyshakenya!

JANUARY 2022

How did you ring in the new year? Probably a lot better than I did. My son and I caught covid. Thankfully, he did not have it nearly as bad as I did. It’s like he didn’t have it all! I felt like I was on my deathbed each day. I wouldn’t wish this horrible sickness on anyone.

I’d thought since I hadn’t caught it throughout the 2 years of the pandemic, I had to have been safe. I thought wrong but what else should I have expected with so many strains out there. About a month and a half later, I experienced some severe chest pains and shortness of breath which happened to be a side effect of covid. I’m happy to say that I haven’t felt any pains or anything since then.

Super random but if you didn’t know, my drink of choice is a margarita (preferably a spicy one). On this day, I had the greatest spicy margarita of my entire life from Yard House. I haven’t gotten the chance to go back and enjoy it again. but I’m hoping it tastes just as how I remember it. A little tangy with a PUNT of heat.

FEBRUARY 2022

My mister surprised me with a lovely dinner on a boat for Valentine’s day. They started me off with 2 glasses of champagne since Dwayne doesn’t drink. Then we had baby beet arugula salads for our appetizers. 45 minutes later my beautiful filet mignon arrived. The best part about that night was them giving me an extra steak because they wanted to! For dessert, I chose the cheesecake but I had no room for it after all the food and drinks I’d had already. It was a perfect date night.

My first time seeing Lady Liberty!

MARCH 2022

I went roller skating for the first time in like 10 years!

My mom, sisters, and I had a bonding day! We all picked a day to get pampered together. We got manicures and spa pedicures which were nice and finished the day off with a late lunch and some early drinks. I wish we can do things like this more often but I understand life gets in the way. I still look forward to the next outing!

APRIL 2022

On April 1st, New Edition came to town! It was a gift from my brother to my mom but we tagged along and made it even more special. I’m not from that era but I knew a couple of songs because of my mom. We also got to see Jodeci and Charlie Wilson. Although I fell asleep about 4 times during the concert, I still had a great time with the fam.

We got to go to Legoland New York! It was so much fun and I can’t wait to share. I’ll be doing a separate post about our experience.

Dwayne and I got couples massages!
Sweet Baby James

We’ve just recently celebrated my grandma’s 84th birthday. Isn’t she just stunning with her victorian blouse? I got her the ultimate birthday gift, an autographed vintage record by James Taylor. I know my grandma enjoys listening to him. She was so shocked when I showed her the certificate of authenticity.

Well, that’s all I have for you today. My life isn’t that eventful anyway lol! I enjoyed getting to look back as well while putting this together. What are some of your favorite recent moments? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. It’s so nice to look through everything like this- I remember seeing some of these on IG but it’s so nice to see them again! Your braids looked SOOO pretty!! It seems like you made some really great memories over the last few months minus the COVID- I am honestly so terrified of getting it everyone I know has had really bad symptoms from it 😫
