A Week Home With Covid AGAIN

Covid is still a thing? It sure is for me. That’s right, I tested positive for Covid, AGAIN! My immune system must be screaming for help at this point. It started over the weekend with what felt like just a regular cold coming on. My throat felt tickly and my nose was running a little bit. No big deal, I knew all I had to do over the weekend was laundry, so I just took it easy and I tried to get better. I was drinking tea and orange juice, trying to stay hydrated. Picked up some Tylonol: Cold and Flu to get ahead of what I thought was just a “cold.” The next day didn’t get any better but I still had to be an adult and do our laundry for the week.

Since I just moved, I’m still on the hunt for a good laundromat. It’s been so annoying trying to find a good enough one in my new town so I’ve been going over to the next one, which just so happens to be my home town so I can feel a little bit more comfortable. That’s beside the point, lol. I was so angry doing my laundry with my mask on. I was so hot and bothered. The place felt so tight and there was nowhere to sit so I was just in and out of my car trying to make it work.

After a long hot day of laundry, I came home and took a long nap. I felt so weak and overall terrible. I assumed my body was overworked from being an adult. Can you tell I’m over being an adult?

Anywho, I mask up and head to work the next day only to immediately be sent home with a positive covid result. Ugh, when I tell you I was so shocked. My mouth dropped because…

1. I haven’t been out much, and I don’t know anyone who has Covid
2. I already had it like 2 other times.
3. I felt terrible even going to work even though I was wearing a mask. The last thing I was thinking about was Covid.

Then started my week-long sick cation with a toddler. I just knew Isaiah was going to get sick because he’s usually always attached to my hip. It felt like old times because even though I am literally with him every single day, I forgot what it was like to be with him during the weekdays 24/7. This time around, he has a lot more energy and requires 10x more attention but he was pretty understanding that I was sick. He ended up testing positive Wednesday afternoon, which wasn’t a shocker but it still sucked. It sucked even more than me giving him the at-home test, myself.

As lethargic as I was this week, I wanted to make sure he wasn’t cooped up entirely so we went out for walks just around the block or so. We enjoyed the fresh air, debated about tree colors and sizes, and even sought-after father bluebirds. Life is definitely interesting from a toddler’s perspective.

Other things I did this week, that require little to no energy

– Literally just lay down. Isaiah makes it almost impossible to take a nap but just being able to do nothing was nice.
– Work on getting my blogging momentum back.
– Think of new meal ideas to try in my new kitchen.
– Unpack some light boxes and bags.

My spicy sausage pasta that came out ah -mazing!

It’s the end of the week now and I finally tested negative yesterday, on Saturday. I’m feeling a lot better than before, but my body still feels weak and I’m just so tired. Unfortunately, Isaiah’s symptoms are progressing, and he is starting to really feel sick. My poor baby. He’s still being his cute little goofy self so that’s good.

I’m thankful for this week of rest and for the fact that I was able to recover within the week. I’m not too sure where I was going with this post. I think I just needed to write, so thanks for listening to me rant. ❤️

  1. I’ve only had Covid once but it absolutely kicked my butt. And it does take a while to recover, the main thing is the weakness. It took me like a month to fully feel normal again. I really hope you’re fully recovered soon and of course Isaiah too. Sending lots of positive vibes! 💕

  2. Tiani, you are right about Covid this exists, three months after you post this, I know eight people including a two-month-old baby what has Covid. I have an ADA compromised immune system and still wear my mask. I visited my primary care doctor on 09/07 and she stated, “I am still diagnosis people daily who tested positive.” Be care and stay safe.
