Who else is obsessed with planners? For as long as I could remember I have been obsessed with everything planning. I love being able to visually see my life mapped out. I love the idea of having structure. I can’t even name the number of planners I have purchased or received over the years. I have gotten so many but for some reason, I never finish using them.
Have you ever went to go reuse your planner but the year was almost up or it was completely expired? That happens to me all the time and it’s pretty annoying because I don’t want to use it anymore. Which means a waste of money. So, instead of buying a new one I created my own version. This way dates and years are interchangeable as well as colors and designs. The best part about it is I can use it for much more. I created different sections personalized to my liking. There is plenty of space as well and since its a binder you can add your own print outs too.
Let’s get started!
MATERIALS
- Mini binder
- Binder pockets
- Filler paper
- Tabs
- Mini post-it notes
- Stickers/decorations
- Glue
DIRECTIONS
- Get a binder with a clear overlay so that you can insert any designs you’d like. I just so happened to find a marble pattern laying around. You can add some glue for extra support.
- Fill the binder with mini loose-leaf paper. You can even fill it with printables! Just use a hole puncher.
- Add your tabs and binder pockets accordingly.
- Glue post-it notes. Use a strong glue such as a hot glue gun or crazy glue. Be careful!
- Decorate to your liking.

I got the majority of my materials from Staples and the Dollar Store. I also got crafty and used some decorations that I already had at home so feel free to do the same. The prices can vary depending on the brand, quality, or design. Now, why would you want to create your own instead of buying one? You pay 12 to 30 dollars for a 1-year planner.

Why not invest in a reusable planner that you can also use for lots of writing. If you’re like me then you’ll appreciate all the extra room for writing.
I had so much fun preparing and making this planner. Let me make yours!
I am now also offering FREE printables! Use them for self-care, goals, lists, or whatever else you’d like. Need guidance? Feel free to message me with any questions.
