In the honor of this past Sunday’s holiday, I thought it would be nice to share some of my favorite Christian songs that have helped strengthen my relationship with the Lord. Easter Sunday is recognized by Christians all over, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Not only are these great songs to just jam out to but they’ve also helped me out of a funk a few times.
I remember one day I was feeling so emotionally empty while driving to Walmart. I was sick of listening to my regular music and I sure didn’t want to talk to anyone. I hardly ever listened to the radio but something encouraged me to give it a try. I forgot I had added a Christian station for my grandma whenever she drove in my car. Turns out that station saved me!
In no particular order, here are my top 6 favorite Christian songs! If you’ve heard some of these already, which one is your favorite, or will you give these songs a try?
Famous For (I Believe)
by Tauren Wells and Jenn Johnson
Two beautiful vocals come together to remind us of what God has done for us and what he can do for us.
Yes He Can
by CAIN
If you’re looking for that one song to brighten your day, this is it. I can’t even explain it. It’s just so bright! Even the music video brings me so much joy. I also recommend listening to their song “Rise Up (Lazarus)”.
12AM
by C A L E B and Gabby Callwood
I was so happy when I found this song. C A L E B is a great artist and has many great songs but this one always has me dancing. It’s giving very much R&B, with some hip hop (thanks to Gabby Callwood, she killed it) and I’m so here for it.
Relate
by for King & Country
Just like the name says, this song is very relatable. It’s a good reminder that even though we all have our struggles, some similar, some worse, we all know the one person we can count on. This Christian pop duo has tons of other hits. Some good ones are “O God Forgive Us”, “Joy”, and “The Proof of Your Love”.
One Day
by Cochren & Co
This is a song filled with hope. Michael Cochren, singer and songwriter does such a great job at painting a picture of a wonderful ideal world. He brings together sounds of soul, American pop, and soft rock to create his timeless melodies.
Fun fact: This was the song I heard on the way to Walmart!
