As I’m sure you probably already know, September is Suicide Prevention Month. I wanted to finish the month off strong by sharing some information about this important topic. Besides, I can’t forget the whole reason I started this blog. It was to not only find a place where I could feel heard but to figure out if there was anybody else feeling the way that I did. You can read more about my story by clicking here .
A person may have suicidal thoughts for several reasons. Did you know that suicide rates have increased by nearly 40 percent over the past 20 years? It was one of the top nine causes of death for people ages 10-64, back in 2021. Suicide is preventable, that is why it’s so important to raise awareness and beat the stigma that revolves around mental health.
