Meet Lisa from Toronto!
Let’s give a warm welcome to Lisa! Hi mama, how are you today?
How many children do you have?
How old were you when you had your first child?
Do you remember your initial reaction when you found out you were pregnant?
What first comes to mind when you think of mental health?
It’s not addressed a lot and it still feels like people look at mental health as taboo or something that is easy to resolve.
Do you suffer from any mental illnesses yourself?
How was your mental health before you became a mama? How has motherhood changed or improved your mental health?
I was a little down. I had suffered 3 miscarriages and lost my Mum to cancer. Motherhood has made me more balanced mentally.
Do you have any stories you’d like to share?
In terms of never giving up hope to conceive, you just have to believe it will happen. Having going through miscarriage after miscarriage( twins as well) I never once thought of giving up and kept trying. It turned out that I needed a hysteroscopy and they removed a band of scar tissue. 6 months later I conceived my son.
Advice for other mamas:
Just take it day by day and don’t turn down any help. Because in the end it really benefits your overall wellbeing
& DON’T FORGET…
Let’s lighten it up!
What’s your drink of choice?
Do you have a favorite movie?
What’s the cutest thing your kid has done?
Smiles all the time
Do you prefer salty or sweet?
