Hello everyone and happy hump day! I know I’m extremely late on the whole Valentine’s day trend, but it hasn’t come yet so I still have time to share the little decor pieces I found at the dollar store last month! Yes, I’ve had these things from the beginning of last month just sitting at the back of my closet. It wasn’t until this week that I decided I needed to add those cute red touches to warm up our home. I also didn’t want my money to go to waste.
Last month when I told Dwayne that I wanted to decorate for Valentine’s day, he looked at me crazy and responded “No one decorates for Valentine’s Day”. Oh, yea? Well, I do now! I just think it’s so fun switching out pieces accordingly (let’s talk about the storage issue later lol).
Ideally, I wanted to do something DIY related but how my life was looking…. that definitely wasn’t happening. But, I am really happy with the very few things that I was able to put up. Even if it will only be up for less than a week. At least I got it out of the closet right?
The red wooden “love” sign was the perfect addition of red and it also complemented my fake roses which were also from the dollar store. The ceramic heart was not from the Dollar store but it fits there perfectly as well as helps stand up the wooden sign. The heart was actually from Marshalls. I got it as a gift 2 Christmas’s ago from my boyfriend. I love it so much!
Now, this heart right here screams dollar store. The picture I took makes it look pretty nice but in reality, the quality is pretty bad. It’s flimsy and the paper-like ruffles (what are they really called?) can easily fall off. I’m not complaining though because it’s still super cute, especially from afar. That’s why I displayed it in the window!
Above my stove, I hung a cute wooden sign reminding me to “love each moment”. Beneath it, I found the perfect oven towel from Target! Not the dollar store, I know. However, it was pretty inexpensive. 3 dollars and the towel is good quality! I’ve become really picky with my oven towels.
That’s all I have for y’all. I’m so happy I made the effort to actually bring these items out. Although they are small accent pieces it really helped me feel good too. Lastly, I just wanted to say how bittersweet it feels to be on WordPress for 3 years! It’s not really a long time at all but it’s a long time to keep up a hobby. Especially for me. Blogging has become something so special to me. Or just writing in general. Whether it be for the public or just to myself in my notes app, It’s been a blessing.
When I first started my blog it was completely impulsive. Usually, my impulse moves just go away. I don’t think too much about it after a few days or weeks. Blogging was different, each year I wanted and still want to get better and expand. It’s such a huge platform and there’s so much to do and learn. With that being said, thanks again everyone for making blogging even more special. Happy Blogaversary to me!
