A Day in the Life of a Stay at Home Mom

8:15 am

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone has a great day. The time I wake up usually depends on Isaiah. I take as much sleep as I could get. Today we woke up at around 8:15 but we both just decided to lay in bed, cuddle, and just stare at the ceiling.

8:30 am

We finally got up and I changed Isaiah’s first diaper of the day. After that, we go to the living room so I can set him up while I start his bottle. I usually put on Baby First or Disney Junior to keep him occupied. While he’s watching TV and waiting for his bottle I give him a bowl of plain old Cheerios and I go use the bathroom. Sometimes Isaiah follows and tries to destroy everything in there.

I started something new y’all. I finally started doing yoga after I said I was going to for months. I do about 10 to 15 minutes of yoga each morning while Isaiah is having his bottle. This has been such a great practice to add to my routine. If I don’t get to do it in the morning, I’ll do it during Zay’s afternoon nap or before bed. After yoga, I start to make our actual breakfast and this morning we had my homemade pumpkin waffles with breakfast sausage and blueberries. My boy loves to eat! I also use this time to plan out the rest of my day. After that, I’ll take out some of his toys to play with but he always just ends up following me for the most part.

11 – 11:30 am

At 11 or around or an hour and a half minutes after breakfast, I give Isaiah a snack. Today he had an apple strawberry Go-Go Squeeze. After that, we had what I like to call “quiet time”. Isaiah refuses to take any sort of scheduled nap these days (boohoo on my end) so sometimes when I see he’s starting to get cranky and fussy I’ll take him into the room for us to just lay down and pretend to nap.

12:30 pm

It’s lunchtime! Today for lunch Isaiah had some 4 cheese Mexican blend, a few crackers, smooshed blueberries, veggie nuggets, and green peas. I’d say that’s a pretty filling lunch. He would definitely agree because he cleared the tray and there was little to no food on the floor which is always a great thing. After lunch, we changed out of our PJs and went outside for some fresh air. Isaiah didn’t like that he had to wear shoes so he refused to take any steps. So we just stood around and looked at nature. Ha! Better than nothing. Right?

3 pm

In my 10 Things You May Not Know About Me post, I mentioned that I recently started doing DoorDash on the side. It’s been a big help. I’ll usually go and DoorDash when my boyfriend comes from work or just whenever I get some free time (and a sitter). I enjoy doing this because although I literally hate driving, I enjoy getting out of the house, having some alone time, and getting paid for it. Today I did really well. I got my biggest tip ever so far!

4-5:30 pm

Time with Dad. They took an extra long nap together. Lucky them!

6 pm

Time with Dad. Isaiah and his father had a pretty good dinner together as well. He had some broccoli, plantains, more veggie nuggets which are his favorite, and garden salsa cheese doodles for after he finished. Isaiah also gets water all day and with every meal. No pictures though because dad forgot. Haha!

7-8:30 pm

More time with Dad. Depending on the time he eats dinner is when we will get him ready for bed. Dad gave Isaiah a nice bath and got him all ready for bed in his dinosaur pajamas. Lastly, he’ll get his night time bottle before he goes to bed. I got home pretty late, around 8ish but the best part about coming home late sometimes is all the work is already done (thanks babe)!

Well everyone this is just a typical day at home with me and my boy. I was supposed to post it on Friday but so many things kept coming up and I didn’t have time to edit. I wish we could pretend it’s Friday again. Anywho, let me know if you enjoy and want more posts like this! I also have full videos of our days over on my YouTube channel. It would be great if you could go over support, and subscribe. While on the subject, help me get to 800 followers on Instagram! I appreciate all of your support.

  1. I really liked this post idea – I enjoyed reading about your day. The food that you made was so fancy! I’ve never even heard of homemade pumpkin waffles before, that sounds like a fancy dish from a restaurant! And I bet that you’re a great cook. Also, it looked like you were having a fun time with your boy. Have a lovely day!

  3. First of all good job mom on creating a schedule. I have a 5 month baby boy and I am still trying to get it together. I love that you are doing blogmas! Great way to challenge yourself and get content out there. And I felt that, when you said getting out the house just for a bit to give you some alone time. Man that is so real. There has been times where I have had a moment to go to the store to grab food, and to be able to be in the car and bump my music up loud, I be so happy. So I truly feel. I am new to WP and I ran across your blog looking for content to follow, so I am adding you and will be reading more of your stuff.
