IT’SUGAR! Treats Update

Hi everyone! Today’s post has been postponed for such a long time. Remember when I posted about my trip to the American Dream Mall here in New Jersey? If you’re an NJ native then you’ve definitely heard of this popular mall that has been in the works for literally years and it finally opened earlier this year. If I’m not mistaken I believe it was Trump’s idea until he went bankrupt and someone else bought him out.

I was so intrigued by their gigantic 3 story candy store IT’SUGAR, I just had to go in. I picked up a few items that I said I would taste and review for ya’ll. I took pictures of all the products and I ended up getting a new phone and losing all of those pictures. I will try to find some images online!

Hello Kitty Ramune 

I really only got this because I saw one of my favorite YouTubers, Emmymadeinjapan tried it. Ha! It took me forever to open this bottle. I had no idea what I was doing. I’ve never tried Japanese soda before! After watching a couple of tutorials I smashed it open and left only a tiny bit of mess.

The flavor is said to be a bubblegum. To me, it tasted like a sweeter version of a flat Sprite. You definitely need to have it chilled. I wanted to love it but I had a hard time. It was missing that CRISP fizzy sensation. It was just a bit to flat for me. I know lots of people adore it though!

The packaging is so cute! I washed it and kept it on my vanity for a while. I lost it during my move. 10 out of 10 wouldn’t get it again but maybe i’ll try another flavor?

Popin’ Cookin’ Donuts

On a serious note… were these made to literally be eaten or just for fun? Anywho, I saw this and had to get it again because I’ve seen them all over online! This was my first ever Popin’ Cookin’ and it was really fun to do! The packaging turned into a little placemat for the donuts. The instructions were in both Japanese and English which made it easy for me to navigate through.

The “donuts” were like a gummy squishy texture but I actually liked it! Definitely not like your average donut. Which is to be expected I guess but if you’ve never tried one like me, it’s quite surprising. I am a HUGE vanilla fan so I like anything vanilla. There is also cocoa powder to make a chocolate version.

There are 3 different sauces and the other 2 are chocolate and strawberry. Call me biased but I didn’t even pay attention to those. Oops! There are also toppings, colorful sprinkles, and crunchies. They were a fun addition!

All in all, I really liked this kit and I would definitely try other ones or even this one again! It was super cute, fun, and tasty

Doughlish Cookie Dough

I love eating the kind of cookie dough you aren’t supposed to eat. Those seem to be the best kind… This one that you are allowed to eat just wasn’t for me. (Seems like I wasn’t a fan of anything… huh?) My first bite made me think hmmm maybe because it isn’t chilled it doesn’t taste right? It definitely melted in my melt but it also tasted wet or humid… if that makes sense? So I chilled it for a while and gave it another shot later.

Still didn’t like it. It was SO sugary and sweet and not in a good chocolate chip cookie dough way. It had an odd after taste that was kind of strong. It was very artificial. I thought wow am I being too harsh? I looked it up and it turns out other people feel the same way. Luckily, Pillsbury has now made their cookie dough edible, raw or baked!

Pink Swirl Cotton Candy

Lastly the cotton candy! Let me start off by saying I love cotton candy. I usually go for the pink kind because the artificial blue ones always taste like blue raspberry which I hate The pink is always good! Surprisingly I liked the blue this time. I didn’t taste too artificial and I enjoy that. This is probably my favorite choice out of all the treats I got!

That’s all I was able to get at the time. The other 2 floors weren’t open yet so I couldn’t explore as much as I’d like to. I definitely want to go back when it’s safe enough. It is literally a dream in there.
