Life Update

Oh boy. It feels so good to be writing again from my comfy couch. It feels like forever since I’ve written even though it’s only been like 12 days. Before I move forward I forgot proper greetings. Hi everyone and how are you guys? I hope all is well and you’re enjoying the new year so far. 2021 has kind of already been a shit show so if it’s not all flowers and unicorns, don’t beat yourself up.

Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. A day that honors this exceptional and legendary man. There is so much to be said and now more than ever do we need to hear his words. A few years ago I had the pleasure of visiting the MLK memorial in San Francisco. You can check out photos in this post here! I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes by him.

What Have I Been up To

I guess you can say not much. In my last post, I had explained that I needed to take time to kind of just get my life back on track. We were hit with terrible news right before the new year. We experienced an incredibly devastating loss. I won’t speak much more on it but just know that this virus is not a joke. Please wear a mask when it’s necessary. Please social distance. Please at least have respect for others.

I’ve been trying to just be in the moment and be as close to my family as possible. On my own time, I’ve been binging the show Weeds on Netflix. I’m obsessed! Hanging out and lounging around has been nice but actual duties call. I spent the weekend attempting to do a mega deep clean. I got pretty far and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. There are still a few little (and even little-er) things that need to be done but ill try and knock it out one day at a time. No rush.

Things That Need to Get Done

  • Wipe down baseboards
  • Disinfect points of contact
  • Re mop
  • Organize closet
  • Sort and clean toys

Peskier Things That Need To Be Done

  • Go through emails
  • Make space on my phone
  • Car maintenance

I just have to find my happy medium and flow and all will be well. Managing a household, taking care of a 15-month-old, and trying to squeeze in a dash each chance I get can be extremely tiring. I’m still trying the whole coffee thing out for extra boosts of energy. How do you guys stay awake and alert throughout the day?

Exciting News to Share

We’ve hit and passed 600 followers here on TianiAngela! This is such a big accomplishment for me. I’m so happy that our little fam here is continuing to grow. I may not be able to come on every day but it’s the best feeling being able to interact with you guys from all over. Thank you to everyone who’s stuck around and to everyone who’s just joining!

I finally got a Mac! A year ago I posted about how my Mac mysteriously broke in the middle of the night. I was devastated. I bought that laptop myself and had it for 5 years before it broke. My whole life was on that thing. I was lucky enough to get one of my brothers used old laptops but the time has finally come. My boyfriend surprised me on Christmas morning with a brand new MacBook Air. I’m finally getting to spend more time on it. The keys feel so good on my fingertips. I’m definitely not one to share gifts but this is just too special not to share.

What to Expect

This year I want to expand and explore more in terms of my blog. I have some fun ideas that I want to try out and some old things that I want to bring back. One of my favorite YouTubers, Emmymade, who I’ve talked about many times before has always inspired me to explore the world but from home and in food. I don’t have any set plans or schedules yet but I hope to do this about once or twice a month. I plan to prepare and try new foods on my blog and taste different treats and snacks on my YouTube channel. I’m beyond excited to start this!

Do you guys remember my Mothers & Mental Health interviews? I’m actually disappointed that I didn’t keep it going. I had a great lineup of wonderful women but when I couldn’t get anyone to interview I sort of gave up. It was my goal to spread awareness about the importance of a mother’s mental health and all that she endures. I’m going to bring it back. So, with that being said, if anyone is interested, please feel free to contact me by sending an email or simply by leaving it in the comments below. Can’t wait to possibly hear from you! I also like the idea of doing Monthly lookaheads. I think it will be fun to look back at the end of the month and see what I’ve actually done and how I felt. I plan to post more Youtube videos this year also now that I’ve kinda gotten the swing of things.

Lastly, my boyfriend and I plan to start our podcast! This is extra exciting because he’s really camera shy so this is going to be perfect for him. It’s also something else we can share and call our own. We had a trial run on our ride back from the Magic of Lights show and it was pretty fun. With a podcast, I’ll almost be on all platforms! This year one of my more realistic goals is to be more active on my social media so make sure to keep up with those as well.

  4. This virus is so serious and I wish people would take it more seriously. The least you could do is wear a mask. It’s not just safer for you but everyone around you too.

  6. Congratulations with growing your blog and starting a podcast. I usually drink coffee or tea to stay awake during the day. It’s always nice to get gifts from your boyfriend/ husband. Can’t wait for the podcast.

  7. Glad you are back and ready to get to it! So sorry for your loss, it is very real out here. In one of your last post you bought a bunch of stuff to get organized for the year. Have you had a chance to write everything down? I’ve been trying to get my life together as well and need to get more organized. Creating content is truly a process. I am at home right now, but will be heading back to work in March, so the real challenge will begin 😣but I gotta stick to it!
